PPS offers limited ultrasound services in the first trimester to confirm that a pregnancy is both viable and intrauterine and to determine a more accurate gestational age of a baby.
Ultrasounds are only offered on Tuesdays and Fridays during regular office hours.
Having an ultrasound is simple and painless. The sonographer places a scanner on the abdomen or in the vagina, and the image of the baby appears on the screen. Through the use of sound waves put out by the scanner, a doctor or sonographer can give an expectant mother important information such as how far along she is and whether or not her pregnancy is viable.
